The new game featuring Indiana Jones is indeed titled “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.” During the Developer_Direct livestream, the team from MachineGames, led by Executive Producer Todd Howard, unveiled the first gameplay and shared several details.
Here’s what they revealed about the “Great Circle”:
- It’s a first-person solo adventure, with occasional shifts to third-person perspective.
- The story is set in 1937, between the events of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Last Crusade.” Sinister figures are unraveling the mystery of an ancient power linked to the Great Circle. Only Indiana Jones can stop them.
- Troy Baker portrays Indiana Jones, while Tony Todd, known for “Candyman” and the voice of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, voices Lucas, one of the villains.
- Gina, a journalist with her own motives in this story, becomes a crucial central character. Alessandra Mastronardi provides her voice (known for “Roman Adventures” and “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”).
- Locations include Marshall College, the heart of the Vatican, the pyramids of Egypt, sunken temples of Sukhothai, the peaks of the Himalayas, and more.
- Indiana’s iconic whip becomes his primary (but not only) tool: it can distract enemies, disarm them, launch attacks, and even be used to swing across gaps or climb walls.
- The gameplay allows a combination of stealth, close combat, and shooting. Linear levels with scripted moments blend with open locations featuring puzzles and traps.
“Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” is set to release in 2024 on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series, as well as through Game Pass.
